Tank: 40g mixed reef Since: 2019 Favorite coral: Torch 'Euphyllia glabrescens' Controller: Apex

I’ve been in aquaria since I was a teenager, starting with freshwater fish and eventually moving into planted tanks. Back then, the idea of keeping a saltwater reef felt impossible—but I’ve always liked a challenge. In 2019, I finally set up my first reef tank and never looked back.

These days, I gravitate toward LPS corals because I love the movement they bring to the tank. There’s just something mesmerizing about the way torches, hammers, and frogspawns sway in the current. My dream is to one day grow out a full torch garden—a vibrant forest of color and flow.

My favorite fish is the flame angelfish. It’s the boss of the tank and always stands out with its bold presence. The personality and splash of red-orange make it impossible to ignore.

When it comes to reefing philosophy, I keep things simple: keep your hands out of the tank as much as possible. Monitor carefully, but don’t make drastic changes at the first sign of trouble. Stability and patience are what keep reefs thriving long term.
